SERVO-ROBOT WiKi-SCAN WELDING INSPECTION SYSTEM

Servo-Robot has launched the WiKi-SCAN, a unique hand-held laser-based welding inspection system.

Product Description

Servo-Robot has launched the WiKi-SCAN, a unique hand-held laser-based welding inspection system. To inspect the part, the inspector simply holds the system up to the un-welded or welded joint and presses the trigger to take measurements and determine if there are any defects present.

The WiKi-SCAN enables the operator to inspect joint preparations, joint fit-up, and weld bead geometry. It accurately measures critical parameters such as face and root openings, mismatch and bevel angles for un-welded joints and features such as leg size, concavity, undercut etc. for welds.

Results can be automatically compared to the tolerance set and provide GO/NO-GO feedback. Furthermore a permanent record of the weld measurements, voice and written comments and pictures of the weld are stored in the WiKi-SCAN and can be sent to a computer.

Advantages of the WiKi-SCAN include less redundant inspection, fewer unnecessary repairs, reduced inspection time and cost savings due to reduced weld time and over welding.

Servo-Robot’s WiKi-SCAN offers the following benefits:

  • Speed up the inspection process.
  • Eliminate subjective measurements.
  • Reduce scrap by detecting a bad joint fit-up prior to welding.
  • Reduce over welding.
  • Verify if welds/repairs are done correctly.
  • Provide permanent documentation.
